Pleasure of senses

To be our guests’ home away from home is our main goal, to fulfil all our guests’ wish is the aim of our competent and discreet Matahari team. We want you to return home with ever lasting memories of a most relaxing holiday filled with cultural, culinary and wellness experiences.

Art and culture

The Resort is built in traditional Balinese style and comprises 32 rooms in 16 single storey lavishly decorated bungalows. All bungalows, the mural decorations and the stone statues in the garden are handcrafted by native artists using local materials such as sandstone, palemanan, wood and bamboo, and fit harmoniously into the lush green tropical gardens.

The Matahari Beach Resort & Spa is proud recipient of Asean Green Hotel Standard Award 2008/2009 and 2010/2011.

Culinary pleasures

The Matahari Beach Resort & Spa provides culinary delights expected from an exclusive resort.
GM Jany-Michel Fourré and Chef Komang Sujana are renowned for their tempting yet creative “East meets West cuisine”. To maintain the high quality, the organic ingredients come from partner plantations and local farms or are harvested in our own herbs and spices garden. Local fishermen provide us with fresh fish and seafood on a daily basis.

Holiday for Body and Soul

Nominated by SpaAsia Magazine as one of the “most beautiful Spas” - the Parwathi Spa is a sanctuary of relaxation built in the style of an ancient Balinese royal water palace. The Spa program with its signature 4 hand- and 6 hand Royal Bali Massage, is derived from ancient Balinese culture, and mirrors the idea of unity, attained through eternal duality – relaxing and rejuvenating. The aroma oils and Parwathi Spa products are based on the purest organic natural ingredients.

Respect of the origin

Individually planed guided tours, excursions and sight seeing trips to explore the real, pristine Bali is one of our specialties. Get acquainted with traditional Balinese art classes like wood- and stone carving classes, painting or cooking classes. Our respect for the traditional Balinese values has been awarded with the Tri Hita Karana Awards.

The tropical Garden

The North-West of Bali is blessed with a perfect climate for all kinds of tropical trees, plants and flowers. Our 4-ha/10 acres tropical garden offers you a wealth of colourful vegetation varying from palm trees, melati trees, bougainvillea, hibiscus, frangipani and oleander. They form the perfect habitat of a great number of tropical birds.

Matahari and Pemuteran

Social Projects
A good relationship with the locals of the village of Pemuteran has always been essential – in 1995 Magnus and Parwathi Bauch, owners of Matahari Beach Resort & Spa have initiated the local Kindergarten. The maintenance cost, renovation and financial support are still being provided by Matahari and so we proudly contribute to basic education of the village children and children of Matahari Beach Resort & Spa team. Furthermore an assembly hall „Bale Dusan“ has been built for the local community to hold their community meetings.

„Benih Kasih” in Banyupoh is a home for children of less fortunate families and orphans. Matahari Beach Resort & Spa supports with financial aids. A music teacher has been engaged to nurture the talents of these children, now a group of around 20 children are able to perform as Music group „Suara Hati – voice of the heart” and among others entertain our guest with life performance on the stage of Dewi Ramona Restaurant.
